I think 2018 will be the year to mix things up. That’s why this YA author is taking a stab at writing 12 picture books in 12 months. I just joined a group called 12×12. Registration closes for the year in February, so if you want to join me in this venture, don’t delay. Hey, don’t think about it, just do it. For $167, you get to hear talks by industry leaders, access to a forum of writers who can help, editors, agents, and a Ginzu Knife. Wait, not that last one.
I already wrote my first draft of my first book in two hours. Seriously fun stuff. I’m almost embarrassed to admit how great this story is, but honestly, it feels pretty darn good. Of course, the cliche is that all first time picture book writers think the same, right? Or maybe it’s just beginners luck. Well, we shall see. My ego is at its highest right now, before critiquers get a chance to slap it around some. I’m enjoying this moment.
